Southend Victoria Vets4Pets is part of the Vets4Pets/Companion Care group (per the clinic website). Based on the website and recent reviews, it appears set up for routine preventative care (vaccinations, neutering) as well as in-practice procedures and follow-up checks (one owner describes an operation followed by several days of post-op check-ups). Multiple reviewers also describe being fitted in quickly when worried (a limping dog, a cat with a swollen eye), while a minority of reviews raise concerns about pricing transparency and handling of urgent cases.

Took my dog Mika to the vets because she was limping. As a first time dog owner I've never experienced anything like this before. As I was freaking out I called the vets to get help and the lady on the phone ensured me that it's okay and instantly gave me an appointment with the vet. Absolutely the kind of people I needed to encounter while in this state and they did an amazing job. While at the appointment they found the issue and managed to rectify it. So professional and I'm so very grateful to of had such an amazing experience. Mika is already jumping and running like she's a puppy again.

1. If you have an emergency don't go there for rabbits. They don't know what they are doing and they will pretend they do. 2. They OVERCHARGE and are under investigation by the CMA. On 2 occasions I saw it clearly. I can only imagine how many times I missed and overpaid. I was charged £1700, when challenged the price dropped to £1200 and £900. I took my animal at Medivet and was charged £800. Same procedure. On another occasion, their "advice" affected my animal's health. I was charged £600, when challenged the price dropped to £250. When I requested them to provide the invoice with the breakdowns of the costs they stopped replying so you never know what you pay. When I requested how the prices dropped suddenly I was told "Just removed some extras" by the vet. So the "extras" took the price from £1700 to £900? I remember once one of their vets told me ppl don't have £2k for emergencies and choose to euthanise their animals. Now I see that the £2k is NOT A REAL COST. They inflate the prices. It is the only vet practice in the UK that has not provided me with a breakdown of the costs. I will be escalating with the Ombudsman and CMA. Don't euthanise your animal if they ask you for too much. Choose another vet.

The reception staff, vets, nurses and assistants have always been helpful, kind and looked after our dog Coco. At 14 she's well, but very recently something was wrong with one of her back legs and she wasn't her usual self. One morning we saw that her foot was bleeding. Their care and attention at speed meant an operation, several days of checks in post op and a gradual recovery. We all know that vets look after the animals, but Peter and co also helped us cope by explaining as we went the 'what and how' making us feel less worried. Thank you all at Vets for Pets Southend.

The reception staff is really friendly and helpful. All the vet staff are brilliant—they saved my furry friend last year, and I couldn’t be more grateful. The care they provide to Leo is incredible. Thank you for all your help! I trust them completely with my furry friend. Highly recommended vet surgery in town.

I came into pet's for vets with my dog who was 14 months old and had been poisoned, the vets there didn't seem to want to do anything for my dog until there was a payment made he was in great pain but no medication for the pain just leave him there and waiting us to take home and bring him back to go on drip for 3 days with less than a 50%he will live so with a y oung son and teenage daughter and mum to comfort as had to decide best for the dog so had to pay over £700 to get this done and we all feel disgusted with their dealings with this so I decided to post this
