Clinic Overview
Medivet Thorpe Bay Broadway is part of the Medivet group in Southend-on-Sea. The practice covers routine care, dental treatment and support for longer-term or more complex cases, with reviews highlighting check-ups for cats and dogs, kitten visits, dental work and ongoing care over many years. It also offers access to Medivet’s round-the-clock emergency network.
Services
- •Routine appointments and preventive care for cats and dogs, including health checks for kittens and puppies. Recent reviews mention six-month check-ups through the Pet Plan and first visits for new kittens, with owners appreciating clear explanations and a calm approach.
- •Dental care, including teeth scale and polish. One owner specifically praised the team’s handling of a very anxious dog during a scale and polish and treatment for other issues.
- •Surgery and ongoing case support for more involved conditions. Longer-term reviews describe continued help with chronic or complex problems, and several owners mention staying with the same vet for years because of that continuity.
- •Pain and mobility support is referenced through a free mobility pain check promotion on the Medivet site.
- •End-of-life and compassionate care also features in reviews, including a home visit from Johan and a practice nurse when owners needed support with dogs being put to sleep.
- •Emergency care access is available through one of Medivet’s 24-hour centres for overnight emergencies.
- •Practical access features mentioned by owners include easy online booking, quick appointments, and convenient parking outside the branch.
Pricing
A very limited amount of published pricing suggests the clinic may sit around average, but this is based on very few comparable services. Medivet lists a £130 overnight emergency consultation fee for consultations between 7pm and 9am at its 24-hour centres. Reviews on cost are mixed: some owners describe pricing as transparent, while one said charges are worth keeping an eye on.
