The vet that dealt with us did not interact with my dog, he wasn't forthcoming with advice and took 15 minutes to locate the medication my dog required although as she had it before it should have been on her notes. I was very disappointed with the appointment

I wouldn’t trust Kinfauns vets now that it is owned by a large corporate company as they put profit before customer or pet care. I needed flea treatment and was recommended Bravecto however I had voiced my concern regarding this as I had recently read that it had severe side affects and many dogs had died because of it. The vet reassured me and convinced me to use it in replacement of the previous flea treatment I had used. At the same time I was recommended an anti itch treatment for my dog who had been scratching a lot. When I got home I researched both medications and found that I had recently purchased a similar anti itch medication and decided to try Maverick on the medication I already had. I phoned the vets within an hour of arriving home and asked for a refund on the prescription for the itch tablets. I was declined!!! They claim I could have used the prescription already therefore they couldn’t refund. Eventually after much effort it was agreed they would refund the tablets. When I took the prescription back (straight away) I told them that I hadn’t made my mind up to use Bravecto and because they gave me such a hard time agreeing to refund the one prescription I said I wanted to refund the Bravecto one so they could be confident I hadn’t used it. I told them that I will still need flea treatment but I wanted to make sure it was safe for Maverick. They declined to refund. I had to write and complain to head office before it was agreed they would refund both prescriptions (I still had to pay consultation fee which was £50). On refund I was told I was no longer welcome as a customer! I am 63 years old. My parents used Kinfauns when I was a child and I used them since I was 20 years old for numerous pets. As a loyal customer I was disgusted that they refused to refund even though I contacted them within an hour of getting home, I gave solid valid reasons for wanting a refund. I said I would still need a prescription etc. They insulted me by suggesting I had used the prescription and even more so by saying I was no longer a customer. Since the vets was sold to this large company you will no longer be valued as a customer. All they care about is profit. I would NEVER recommend Kinfauns to anyone. Their costs are also inflated.

All the actual staff are wonderful to be totally honest. But as sad as i am to say it the Ltd company that owns it is purely interested in PROFIT. Vets are no longer about Animal Welfare they are all about making money from pet owners. Get your animals pills & potions on line ask for a prescription & save yourselves a fortune. Not many ethical vets left just Ltd companies making massive profits from your loved animals.

I have mobility problems and unable to.go out, but my friend took my cat Tabitha to the vet for me and I was completely satisfied with all the help for Tabitha and kept informed all the time about her visit. It was good to know Tabitha was well looked after to and from the Vet, and at the appointment as well. Tabitha very subdued today however and not happy with the situation and hiding now!! But I'm pleased her ordeal is over and apart from being a little fat all is well with her. My thanks to all concerned. Iris
