Clacton-on-Sea Vets For Pets is described on its website as a locally owned Vets for Pets practice. Based on the clinic’s listed facilities (including an in-house laboratory, operating theatre, and oxygen chamber) and what owners describe in reviews, it appears set up for both routine care and urgent, stabilising treatment (for example, one owner describes their dog being put into oxygen while tests were run, followed by a diagnosis and clear explanation).
Owners repeatedly mention practical, decision-relevant details such as same-day appointments being available, updates during the day about a pet’s progress, and vets taking time to help nervous or rescue dogs settle (including speaking calmly and using treats at the end of an appointment). Reviews also include serious complaints about communication and treatment decisions, including one account involving parvovirus advice and another describing a distressing nail-trim visit and a payment discussion at reception.
Services and capabilities stated on the clinic website include
Emergency/out-of-hours: the website states out-of-hours provision is through VetsNow.

We have recently moved over to Clacton vets for pets, from a negative experience at a past practice our dogs didn’t take well going to the vets, from our 2 recent visits here we saw Pawel the first visit and he was friendly and patient with our dogs, the 2nd visit we saw Hati and she was also very patient and lovely, At the end of the appointment she sat with our larger dog and spoke to him and rewarded him with treats which was lovely to see him happy and calm at the end. The receptionist team have also been helpful, we really appreciate everyone’s manner and patience, and we definitely feel more at ease bringing our dogs to see the vets now. Thankyou for making the past visits a more positive experience

My Marnie loves Pawel and his nurses! Really reasonable pricing for pet care and pet plan. In the last couple of months we have had frequent visits for different things and always treated with kindness and care. Marnie is a rescue so can be nervous around bigger dogs and men (trauma related) but she feels at ease every time she sees the team.

I don’t recommend this vets to anyone, my 9 week old puppy had his first vaccinations and microchipping outside cause the guy refused to let us in, a week later my puppy as well as my mums tested positive for parvovirus I took him here as he was registered here, he lied to me and told me the antibiotics he gave would help my puppy have more of a survival rate as it would help, I took them both to manning vets last night and they told me the stuff he gave me would not help at all so he lied and let my puppy suffer more not only that if he told the truth my puppy would of had a more survival rate as we caught it early for both puppies now I’ve had to put my puppy to sleep as well as my mums who belonged to a 8 year old autistic boy because of a vet who couldn’t tell the truth and got me to pay for something that wouldn’t work if he had told me in the begging that there was no chance of survival I wouldn’t of let him suffer but you lied to me and told me he would of had a chance, to the vet who lied to us I hope your happy with yourself and I hope karma gets you

So far using Vets for pets I have found the ladies on reception to be really helpful even when calling, nothing is too much trouble. When I registered my 2 dogs we saw the vet and this guy is a really nice guy. before my appointment he was having to pop into to rooms and deal with an emergency while dealing with another consultantion. So I think my suggeston is another Vet would be a good idea, which I believe is happening. Please also remember, reviews that pop up on FB always have 2 sides to a story. I was able to clarify something that came up on FB and my mind was put to rest immediately.

Two weeks ago our beautiful fur baby become extremely poorly and our original vet was not open due to a bank holiday. It was my quick thinking to try Vets for pets and can honestly say it was the best thing I could have done. The receptionist was incredible with support and urgency of the condition and told us to come straight in. We were welcomed and sent straight into the nurse who was so thorough checking our dog and questioning her medical history With this our dog was placed into another room for oxygen and test and we then met the vet who was warm, attentive to us and acted so fast on her condition. We were then told to wait in the most warm, clean, calm reception area for her yesterday results and was even given a coffee whilst waiting. We didn’t have to wait long for all the test and a diagnosis and everything was explained so clearly and sympathetically. Our dog is in recovery but will need continuous veterinary support and can honestly say i will only ever use here for her. The team are incredible and prices are good and the support is top quality. I can honestly not thank this amazing practice enough for what they have done for my fur baby x
