Vets Now Manningtree is part of the Vets Now network (a larger group) and is set up specifically for emergency and out-of-hours care for small animals when regular vet practices are closed. Recent reviews describe being seen quickly for urgent problems (including a cat that had eaten string and pets in severe pain), with staff giving clear explanations of diagnosis/treatment plans and, in some cases, discussing insurance/direct claims over the phone. Pricing is a recurring talking point: several owners describe bills of “over £300” for an emergency consultation/visit, while others say the care and communication justified the cost.

We were very pleased with the service and treatment we received when our cat needed an emergency vet. We were seen straight away, diagnosis and treatment sorted. Great advice and friendly staff.

Sadly I had to use their services on 1st January 2026. From start to finish starting with the lady on the phone who was knowledgeable and understanding. Fast forward a few hours we bought our boy wanni down who was in a terible amount of pain.Alex the vet (hope i spell it right)was honest and upfront with us from the minute we met.ive met many vets in my life but this guy stands out he was absoloutley exceptional and his compassion and understanding is something that won't leave me.he was the perfect man for the job(yes I no hes paid for it)but lemmi tell u,u do not meet people like him often and im 4eva grateful he was there. He is 1 in a million.Explained everything in full even tho it was hard to take in what was hapening.Unfortunately for me i lost my best friend wanni that day who was also 1 in a million i lost my bestest friend in this world and im truly devastated but Alex's honesty is somethin I will not forget. U don't no how much it meant to be to treated this way.Alex is an invaluable member of the vets now team at brantham.i did call up and pass on my regards but sometimes thank u isn't enough. Just like sorry doesn't cover losing your beloved pet. Alex if u eva read this its lou wannis mum and I will sing ur praises as long as im on this earth. 4eva grateful I just wish I hadn't lost my beautiful boy . Highly recommend this team. Yes they are expensive out of hours vets but it is what it is. If love could of saved my wanni he would of lived 4eva.Wannis brother misses him terribly the void is huge.Thank u from the bottom of my heart out of everyone in this world im blessed to have my boy cared for by u Rip my wanni la boot 🐾 💔

Had to go to the emergency vets when one of our cats got hold of and ate some string whilst we were out. Everyone we spoke to at Vets Now was so friendly, kind and helpful, they really put us at ease and helped as much as they could - even though the injection to induce vomiting didn't work on either of our cats! It's nice to know they're available for urgent care, however, the pricing is so expensive which is the only reason for knocking off one star. Over £300 just for one pet to be looked at, although we were given a discounted rate for our other cat, as we weren't sure which had eaten the string. There were at least 3 members of staff on duty though, so it is understandable as long as it's going towards paying their wages, but would be prohibitive for some.

Awful predatory prices. Called them when my vets were closed as my cat had broken the lower part of his leg. Was told a consultation would cost over £300 which is about what it ended up costing me at my normal vets for the xray, meds and consultation together. Lady on the phone kept repeating the same price and terms and conditions like a robot. At some points did wonder if it was as there was not a hint of sympathy. Unfortunately companies like this provide an essential service, which is why they see fit to squeeze hundreds out of desparate people and hurt animals. I don't know how anyone here sleeps at night.

Really caring and lovely staff who looked after our dog in his final few minutes at 5am this morning. Very caring and compassionate in a purpose built practice. Thank you to all the staff on the night shift.

Answered the phone promptly when I had to call for an emergency. The operator was informative and helped me find a vet to take my cat to. Once there, the vet Harriet was reassuring and knowledgeable of the condition my cat was in. My boy is a spicy orange and she handled him well, and Harriet if you see this, I’m so sorry again for Nacho’s behaviour!! I felt calm and was informed of the next steps in terms of making a claim thanks to the staff at Vets Now and I am so thankful they were able to help my boy!

My dog Finley had to go to Vets now Colchester at the weekend due to being vary poorly my friend had to take him due to me being in a wheelchair and not being able to get transport. The vet phoned me to go though everything and the cost and advice I could do a direct claim so put my mind at rest all the way though his treatment. I hope I don’t have to use them again but I would if I needed to they were outstanding and the staff amazing. So thankful they could get my boy on the road to recovery.

We came on a Sunday over the bank holiday weekend as our own vet uses Vets Now out of hours. Our 1 year old GSP is (usually!) extremely reactive. She felt so at ease there, with the nurse and the vet- which meant we did too. They saw us very quickly, checked her out and gave us some meds. We were there less than an hour and everybody was lovely and professional.

Just want to say how caring and lovely everyone was when I had to bring my dog Joey in for emergency care Saturday evening. He had to stay in on a drip for 24 hours and I trusted them completely in looking after my poorly boy. They treated him like therebown dog. I was able to take him back to my own vet and continued his treatment for kidney failure.....but unfortunately I lost him yesterday, his kidneys were just too worn out.......
