Attended on 4th December 2025 to have my dogs anal glands expressed. Was quoted £25 for the appointment and £28 for some medication. My dog was refused service due to being 'dangerous' - he is a miniature dachshund for context - so I ended up having to take him elsewhere for service. At no point during my appointment was I advised I would have to pay any sort of fee. I paid by card the £28 for the medication and I left. I then received an invoice 11 WEEKS LATER for £44. This is apparently for a 'consult fee'. My question is WHY was I not told I have to pay this at the appointment while I was there, already paying for medication with my card? WHY has the cost of the consult fee now increased to £44 when I was quoted £25 over the phone and WHY am I being billed nearly 3 months later for this fee? When I spoke to Loretta on the phone, I was advised 'I don't know who quoted you £25, if you don't have a name, it didn't happen' & 'I don't know why we didn't bill you at the appointment'. It sounds to me like they are just completely making up charges for appointments at this stage. AVOID if you want an honest vet that actually cares for your pet instead of a rude money making machine.

Must be the worst experience ever at a vets. The receptionist was extremely rude. Kept me waiting 30 mins without a word. I got up and left. Never again Don't wast your money there.

Service has definitely got worse since I was first registered here 8 years ago. No responsibility taken for any admin errors (not informed of medication being delivered as they didn’t have in stock at time of appointment, not sending annual vaccination reminders for all registered pets). Will definitely be looking to register elsewhere.

Unfortunately I had to give a star to write review!!! I took my poorly cat to the Harlow branch and was refused medication on arrival as urgent tests were needed to confirm what was already expected as an infection. I have always been given medication and advised that if my animal does not improve bring her back for further treatment and tests. After being charged £400 for unnecessary treatment I emailed to voice my concerns but was met with a very rude and condescending response from Ruth the practice manager who accused me of regretting spending money and in not so many words neglecting my animal for refusing costly treatment. I have never been treated this way before with either of my cats in the past and find it an insult to myself to be accused of this. I will be looking for another practice which is a shame as up until this visit I have always been happy with the service and care of my animals, but unfortunately they are clearly only interested in money making and hitting targets and taking advantage of people in a vulnerable situation.
